Lab Alumnus

  • Nathalia Gutierrez Sacasa, BS

    Nathalia was previously a Research Coordinator in the lab. They primarily worked on the startup and long-term success of the SCORE study. Additionally, they managed the undergraduate interns during the 2023-2024 academic year. They are currently completing an MPH at WashU as a prestigious McDonnell Scholar.

  • Lynn Andreae, Ph.D.

    Dr. Andreae was a post-doctoral scholar on C2Dream with Dr. Japuntich. She worked on management and start up for the study and oversaw academic products.

  • Atefeh Alavi Fili, BS

    Atefeh was previously a Research Coordinator for the Behavioral Health Equity Research Group. She worked primarily on studies involving behavior change for patients with depressed mood. She is currently a Research Coordinator at the University of Calgary in Alberta.

  • Carina Lundtvedt, MSW, LICSW, CTTS

    Carina was previously a Behavioral Health Research Counselor for the Behavioral Health Equity Research Group. She worked primarily on studies involving behavior change after cardiac events and for those living with HIV. She is currently a Behavioral Health Clinician at Hennepin Healthcare.

  • Michelle Chrastek, Ed.D., MPH

    Dr. Chrastek was previously the Research Project Manager for the Behavioral Health Equity Research Group. She primarily worked with Dr. Busch. She currently works at the Minnesota Department of Health.

  • Neil Gleason, MA

    Neil was previously a Behavioral Health Research Counselor in the Behavioral Health Equity Research Group. He worked mainly on the PACES and PASS studies. He completed a PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Washington in the lab of Dr. William George in 2024 and is currently completing an internship at the Seattle VA.

  • Olamide Ojo-Fati, MD, MPH, MBA

    Dr. Ojo-Fati was previously a Research Scientist in the Behavioral Health Equity Research Group. His focus was on smoking cessation in populations such as Muslim men and those with serious mental illness.

  • Alex Ajayi, Ph.D., LP

    Dr. Ajayi was previously a research fellow with the lab providing brief psychological interventions. He spent most of his time working on the PASS study. Outside of the lab, his background was in integrated and culturally responsive interventions. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities in the College of Liberal Arts and provides therapy through his private practice. He continues to work with the lab as a collaborator.

  • Ummul Kathawalla, MA, Ph.D.

    Dr. Kathawalla provided support as a research counselor on the PASS study while completing her PhD in Counseling Psychology at the University of Minnesota. Outside of the lab, her research focused on the consequences of mental health on physical health. Dr. Kathawalla moved forward from the lab to complete her Clinical Psychology internship at the Boston VA. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice at Suffolk University.
